More than one-quarter of the teams that qualified for and competed in the U19 USA Field Hockey National Indoor Tournament (NIT) are the Philadelphia-area. The thirty-one teams — of 120 — included: FSC (1), Horizon (1), Mystx (5), Phillly (2), True North (1), Viper (2), WC Eagles (10), and X-Calibur (9). Teams must have earned a spot through National Qualifying Tournaments (NIQ) throughout the indoor season.
WC Eagles Field Hockey Club’s teams were the shining stars of the U19 tournament finishing first in all 10 of their pools; the teams combined for 47 wins, 2 ties and 1 loss. The club also captured first in all of its pools in the U10 (1) and U12 (3) divisions at the NITs held in Lancaster, also this past weekend.
Other area clubs that shone include: X-Calibur FHC, whose teams won one pool, took 2nd in four, and 3rd in one. Mystx FHC also captured gold in one pool and secured 2nd in two. Philly Hockey Club garnered a 2nd and 3rd place finish in pool play; FSC Falcons a 2nd; and Horizon FHC pulled in a 3rd place finish. Viper FHC and True North Academy also qualified through tough competition and competed well at the U19 NIT. Click here for full results via USA Field Hockey’s site.
Congratulations to our Phila-area players, coaches and clubs. #PhilaFH
